Privacy and data

Subscription

BballStat Pro is an auto-renewing monthly subscription purchased through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account and the subscription renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in App Store account settings. Free features remain available without a subscription.

Some of the core basketball statistics BballStat tracks, plus how they are commonly interpreted.

Points (PTS)

Total points scored from all made field goals and free throws.

Field goals made (FGM)

Number of made two or three point shots from the field.

Field goals attempted (FGA)

Number of two or three point shots taken, excluding free throws.

Field goal percentage (FG%)

Field goals made divided by field goals attempted.

Two point field goals made (2PM)

Number of made shots taken inside the three point line.

Two point field goals attempted (2PA)

Number of shots taken inside the three point line.

Three point field goals made (3PM)

Number of made shots taken from beyond the three point line.

Three point field goals attempted (3PA)

Number of shots taken from beyond the three point line.

Free throws made (FTM)

Number of successful free throws.

Free throws attempted (FTA)

Number of free throw attempts.

Free throw percentage (FT%)

Free throws made divided by free throw attempts.

Offensive rebounds (OREB)

Rebounds collected on your own team's missed shots.

Defensive rebounds (DREB)

Rebounds collected after an opponent's missed shot.

Total rebounds (REB)

Sum of offensive and defensive rebounds.

Assists (AST)

Passes that directly lead to a made basket.

Steals (STL)

Times the player legally takes the ball away from an opponent.

Blocks (BLK)

Shots blocked or heavily deflected on the way to the basket.

Turnovers (TOV)

Possessions lost through errors, violations or bad passes.

Personal fouls (PF)

Fouls committed that are charged to the player.

Plus-minus (+/-)

Score difference while the player is on the floor.

Efficiency rating

A simple score that combines positive stats minus missed shots and turnovers.

Usage estimate

A rough indication of how often a player finishes possessions with shots, fouls or turnovers.

True shooting percentage (TS%)

Shooting efficiency that blends field goals and free throws into one measure.

Effective field goal percentage (eFG%)

Field goal percentage that gives extra weight to three point makes.
